The usual rhythm is every 10,000 km or once a year, and we'd tighten that for a hard-worked diesel or a Thar that actually sees trails.

A Few Notes on Specific Mahindra Models
Scorpio-N and XUV700. These are the feature-loaded ones โ ADAS, a big infotainment screen, and an Aisin 6-speed automatic, available with the 2.0 mStallion turbo-petrol or the 2.2 mHawk diesel. They want proper electronic diagnostics and their ATF changed on time, and if yours is the AWD, that drivetrain has servicing needs of its own.
Thar and Thar Roxx. Real off-roaders, in the 2.0 petrol or 2.2 diesel. If you actually wade or trail in yours, the transfer-case and diff oils need doing more often than the book says, and we check for water ingress after a proper outing.
XUV 3XO. The compact SUV of the range, with the 1.2 mStallion or the 1.5 diesel. Suspension and turbo-petrol care are the main things to stay on top of.
Bolero, Bolero Neo and Marazzo. Workhorses, plain and simple. Disciplined diesel servicing is what keeps them as reliable as their reputation.
Common Mahindra Problems, and What We Actually Do
Turbo, EGR or injector trouble on the mHawk diesel. You'll get power loss, smoke or a warning light. We diagnose and repair it at the source, keeping an eye on the DPF on the BS6 diesels.
Automatic hesitation on the Scorpio-N, XUV700 and Thar 6AT. More often than not it's overdue ATF or a software adaptation issue, not a gearbox that's actually failed โ worth establishing before anyone panics.
4x4 engagement or transfer-case faults. We inspect the drivetrain and put the correct oils through it.
A knock from the suspension. These are heavy SUVs, and the links, bushes and arms wear out faster on broken NCR roads. We replace what's actually worn.
Electrical or sensor faults on the XUV700 and Scorpio-N. All that rich electronics needs proper fault reading rather than swapping parts and hoping one sticks.
Weak AC. As with most cars here, it usually starts with a dust-blocked condenser, so we pressure-test before mentioning a compressor.
